Shofar or Ram's Horn
Every congregation must have at least one shofar! The shofar was blown in ancient times during the Jewish Biblical feasts, to assemble the troops for war and to put fear and confusion into the enemy's camp.
Why do we blow the shofar today? For all the same reasons!
When Abraham was about to offer up Isaac on the altar, the Angel of the Lord stopped him and said I will provide a sacrifice. Isaac was spared and a ram was found stuck in the thorn bushes by his horns. This is the origin of the ram's horn. The ram's horn signifies salvation because it foreshadowed God offering up his only Son as a sacrifice for us all. Shofar - $160
